Sound Bath is a form of relaxation with the sounds of various instruments that have bell-like qualities and can create a resonance together that influences our brain in a very positive way. It can also be as a form of meditation practice- meditation with sound.
The sounds that are played in the room help to harmonize our brains. A unique blend of sounds, different frequencies, harmonics, and steady beats, takes our mind on the self-discovery journey.
Some people come to the sound bath to connect with the higher self and receive messages from their subconscious or to heal from the past. This is possible because of the states that the sound can induce.
Hypnogogic state, theta or delta state are the brain wave patterns that are characteristic of meditation, deep relaxation, intuitive dreams or hypnosis.
States in which the transformation of old beliefs, understanding, creativity, guidance and healing can be possible.
Whatever you need at this moment, a sound bath is offering you space to go as far as you want. For many people, it is a space where they learn how to relax and let go of tension. Sessions help people to find this peaceful state of well-being.
What happens during the sound bath session?
A typical sound bath session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, though longer experiences—such as three-hour sessions or even nine-hour gong nights—are also available. No prior experience is necessary. While there are shorter, 30-minute sessions available, they are less common because it typically takes at least 15 minutes for deep relaxation to set in, and it's important to allow time for a safe and gradual return to a grounded state.
You'll usually be lying down, comfortably wrapped in a blanket, as you absorb the resonant sounds that travel through your body.
Our sessions begin with a guided body scan, mindful breathing or Yoga Nidra practice to help you connect with the present moment and with yourself. Once the sound immersion is complete, we come together to share wishes of peace and kindness, fostering an environment of openness and shared healing.
What to bring to the Sound Bath?
Something to Lie On: A yoga mat, a single duvet, or a folded mattress
Blanket: To keep you warm during the session
Pillow: For extra comfort and support
Extra support: any extra pillows or bolsters for your knees and back, especially if you have back problems or are pregnant
An eye pillow or an eye mask to cover your eyes and let them rest
What are the benefits of the sound bath?
Sound Bath sessions have many benefits. They work on the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical levels. The space created through relaxation allows each individual to start their self-healing process.
The state of relaxation achieved during a session can allow your body to tap into its innate healing mechanisms. This process might even support your immune system—a function often hampered by chronic stress. By fostering mindfulness and self-awareness, sound baths support spiritual grounding. They can help you connect with your inner self and nurture a sense of peace.
This practice itself gives us not only a chance to relax and contemplate but also results in many health benefits, just to name a few:

What else to expect?
These sessions also teach your mind how to relax, or remind your body and mind how it feels to be relaxed. It is mind training so don't be surprised if you can't easily relax at the first session. It takes time for our thinking minds to learn how to let go. We are not used to simply lying still and concentrating on sounds. Especially if it's your first time and there are so many interesting new sounds your mind is trying to analyze. This is a form of mindfulness or meditation with a sound and we can use the regular sessions as a form of our practice.
Every session will be different for you as you may have different days, sounds may be different, you may be open to other aspects or ready to go deeper into the journey. It is good to give it a try at least 3 times to give yourself a chance to experience the benefits of this practice. Every session can be very different for you. Stay open for whatever the present moment brings.
During the session you can experience emotional and physical sensations, if you have any pain you may feel like it changes the place, or intensity or completely disappears. You can experience your body being free of weight and a floating-like feeling. At times you may fall asleep or travel between dream and reality. These are feelings connected to the theta state and the widening of consciousness. You'll experience your body differently each time as everything is changing so does the session can be every time something new for you and offer you different lessons.
As you go deep into the subconscious mind you may enter places that need healing. It is ok to feel emotional. Sadness, grief, frustration, and anger are common emotions which may come up during, after the session or even a few days after. Our sessions are a safe place for them to be healed. We are there for you during the session, we always keep an eye on the group. The deeper you go into the meditation the more you may notice layers of different sensations and emotions as they come up.
The gongs and their powerful influence will help you go very deep. They are meant to stir up the feelings, letting them come up to the surface, so they can be acknowledged and healed.
Are there any contraindications to attending the Sound Bath?
Please refrain from attending the sound bath if you have consumed drugs or alcohol!
We ask that you honour this space for everyone’s safety and well-being. This is not an environment for experimenting with substances. Even if you had a glass of wine, it can put you into a deep sleep, leading to excessive snoring or difficulty waking up, which disrupts the experience for others.
Attending the session under the influence can alter your personal experience and pose safety risks. It may also negatively impact others who come to feel safe and supported. The scent or behavior associated with substance use may be triggering for some individuals.
Although we have encountered only two such instances in over 15 years, we find it necessary to enforce a clear policy: anyone found to be under the influence will not be permitted to attend the session and will not be refunded for their ticket. We appreciate your respect for this space.
Health Contraindications.
Sound baths are not suitable or appropriate for everyone. Refrain from attending the sound bath if:
You suffer from frequency-triggered epilepsy or a history of seizures that might be triggered by sound
You have serious mental health conditions—such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or advanced psychosis
If you are experiencing an acute illness or symptoms of a contagious virus, please refrain from attending the session. Even if your symptoms seem mild, such as those of the common flu, your presence can alter your own experience and potentially put others at risk. For the safety and well-being of everyone in the space, we ask that you prioritize your health and that of others by staying home if you are unwell.
You should exercise caution:
If you have metal implants in your body, such as pins or joints, please proceed with caution. Although rare, sound can trigger resonance in the implant, potentially causing physical discomfort.
If you are pregnant and plan to have bowls placed on your body, please inform us in advance. While there are no contraindications for listening to the sounds during any trimester of pregnancy, we want to ensure your safety and comfort.
Age Considerations and Family Guidelines:
If you wish to bring children younger than 13 years old, please contact the host in advance. We offer family sessions and sessions specifically tailored for children; they are designed with age-appropriate language and shorter durations to ensure an enjoyable experience. Our 75-minute sessions and mindfulness meditations might not be suitable for younger children, as we must consider the comfort and experience of the entire group.
In general, we allow children ages 13 and older, who can remain still for the full duration of the session.
If you or your older child have sensory sensitivities, are on the autism spectrum, or experience ADHD, please consult with us beforehand to discuss whether the sound bath experience is the best choice and how we can support you.
Sound baths should not be considered a substitute for professional psychological or medical advice and treatment; however, they can serve as a highly beneficial complementary practice to relax both the body and mind, ultimately helping you find inner peace.
