Mindfulness in Schools Programme

Supporting well-being and positive mental health in Ireland

Mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the present moment in the mind, body and external environment, with an attitude of curiosity and kindness judgment. We discover different aspects of mindfulness: awareness of breathing, body, sensations, emotions, thoughts, senses: listening, tasting, seeing, speaking, moving, touching.

A few of the proven benefits of mindfulness:

  • Increased self-awareness

  • Better focus and concentration

  • Enhanced health

  • Decreased stress & anxiety

  • Increased sense of calm

  • Improved sleep

  • Skilful responses to difficult emotions

  • Increased empathy and understanding of others

  • Improved impulse control

  • Increased appreciation for life

Mindfulness Programme for Primary and Secondary Schools has been proven to be an effective bullying prevention tool around the world and implemented successfully in thousands of schools.

Mindfulness slowly starts to get the attention of the Ministry o Education and being recognized as a very beneficial part of children's development. With hopes for becoming one day a part of the SPHE curriculum and help to support positive mental health practice in Irish schools. It is an investment in your child's mental health and well-being for years to come.

Teaching mindfulness to children is like planting a seed which with time and practice has a chance to become a strongly rooted base for a happy and confident adult who deals well with stress and challenges, is capable of forming strong and healthy relationships and also develops emotional intelligence.

I was trained with Mindful Schools ( )

Our programme is inspired and based on Mindful Schools Curriculum, however, it is not entirely thought as Mindful Schools Curriculum but adapted by adding more art, stories and sound relaxation into it. Teachers and parents are included in a programme as well.

The programme can be tailored to school needs and finances.

We also run workshops for teachers and parents separately.

It's very effective as a bullying prevention practice. It develops self-awareness and self-esteem in children.

Our programme is designed to fit any group age and classroom, both at the primary and secondary level.

Teachers are also to benefit from it, learning tools to continue to work with mindfulness in their classroom and their daily life.

The programme can be stretched between 8-30 sessions, 15 min - 1 hour in duration.

CD with mindful practise and materials for students, parents, and teachers, also art materials are included in the price.
