Why Train with ATTUNE Academy

At ATTUNE Academy, we believe great sound facilitation combines musical skills, practical facilitation, and the ability to hold space with confidence, sensitivity and care.  We believe musical confidence and sound facilitation skills develop through practice, experience, deep listening, reflection, and ongoing learning.

Our training includes hands-on learning with singing bowls, gongs, instruments and sound structures, alongside facilitation skills, trauma-sensitive principles, nervous system awareness, mindfulness, critical thinking and responsible practice. We explore what current knowledge, experience and research can tell us about the role of sound in wellbeing.

Students learn not only how to play instruments, but how to work safely with groups, understand pacing and sound intensity, adapt sessions to different needs, support regulation, and create meaningful experiences rooted in presence and professional practice.

Whether you are a beginner, have already completed Level 1 elsewhere, or are looking to continue your professional development, our pathways are designed to build on your existing experience and support deeper confidence in practice.

Founded by Sound Magic Ireland, facilitators with experience since 2010, ATTUNE Academy offers practical, embodied learning rooted in real experience, creativity, and ongoing development.

Story behind ATTUNE Academy

ATTUNE Academy was founded by Kasia Slabon — sound practitioner, musician, mindfulness teacher, and mother of two neurodiverse children.

My interest in trauma-sensitive and nervous system-aware practice comes not only from years of professional work, but also from personal experience. As a mother of two neurodiverse children with my own sensitive nervous system, I know first-hand that relaxation is not always easy or straightforward.

As interest in sound baths grows and more facilitators begin sharing this work, I believe it is increasingly important that sound facilitation is approached with care, professionalism, responsibility, and ongoing development.

I created ATTUNE Academy as a place for grounded, practical, and ongoing learning — where beginners, practitioners, and experienced facilitators can develop confidence, musicality, sensitivity, and professional skills over time.

WHY ATTUNE ?

We chose to name our Academy ATTUNE, because it sits at the heart of everything we teach and practise—as sound bath facilitators, parents, and human beings.

To attune means to listen deeply, tune in, adapt and connect.

At ATTUNE ACADEMY, we believe that sound, presence and attunement work together to create the conditions for deep listening, nervous system regulation and meaningful human connection.

Through sound, silence, awareness and presence, participants are invited to reconnect with themselves, notice what is happening within, and tune into a greater sense of balance, harmony and wellbeing.

TUNE YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

When you work with sound intentionally, you're affecting nervous system regulation — moving someone from dysregulation toward calm, presence, and parasympathetic activation.

ATTUNE TO OTHERS

Attunement is the ability to be present, responsive, and in harmony with the people you're facilitating. Attunement means noticing what is happening in the room, responding appropriately and creating experiences that feel safe, inclusive and supportive.

ATTUNE TO SOUND

Sound journeys are carefully structured compositions. We teach you to create sound tunes — intentional musical designs that are coherent, engaging, and responsive to your participants' needs.

Learning when to play, when to pause, how to shape a sound journey, and how to listen deeply is just as important as learning how to produce sound.

When sound, presence, and attunement come together — sound waves synchronise nervous systems, your calm presence helps regulate others (co-regulation), deep listening creates psychological safety, and attunement allows real-time adaptation.
